The Bentall procedure is a type of repair involving the a standard procedure for treating ascending aortic root lesions. Typically the native aortic root and aortic valve are replaced with a composite graft that comprises of both ascending aortic and aortic valve grafts and into which the coronary arteries are anastomosed.
History and etymology
Its original introduction was by H Bentall and A De Bono in 1968 4 . Since then there have been several modifications to the procedure.
