Bronchiectasis

Bronchiectasis is, broadly speaking, the dilatation of bronchi. Three types are described, according to macroscopic morphology, which match a spectrum of severity:

  1. Cylindrical - tram line sign and signet ring sign
  2. Varicose
  3. Cystic

As is true for most lung pathology, bronchiectasis is a the common response of bronchi to many different insults. Causes include:
