Diaphragmatic mesothelial cysts are rare benign congenital lesions involving the diaphragm. They are thought to derive from celomic remnants.
They typically present in the pediatric population.
The cysts are typically asymptomatic and are thus diagnosed incidentally radiologically 1.
Ultrasound
May play a role in confirming its cystic nature in some cases 4.
CT
Typically right-sided and seen as a cystic mass between the thoracic wall and the liver, in the right posterolateral costophrenic angle 3. Many tend to be thin-walled bilobulated or oval-shaped. Some lesions can show subtle evidence of their extrahepatic location.
