Duverney fractures are a type of pelvic fracture and comprise an isolated iliac wing fracture. Most commonly they result from a direct blow. It is regarded as a stable injury but may be operated on in the event of severe comminution.
History and etymology
It is named after Joseph Guichard Duverney (1648-1730), a French surgeon.
