The humerus series is comprised of an AP and lateral radiograph, utilized primarily in trauma, but also in the evaluation of bone tumors.

Projections
The two standard projections allow two views of humerus at 90˚:
Further views may be required if there are suspected:
- midshaft fracture include both shoulder and elbow joints
- neck of humerus fracture, proximal humerus only is required
- distal humerus fractures (e.g. supracondylar fractures) require elbow views
- glenohumeral joint dislocations usually require a complete shoulder series
