Interstitial edematous pancreatitis

Interstitial edematous pancreatitis is one of two subtypes of acute pancreatitis. It is normally just referred to as "pancreatitis" or "acute pancreatitis". 

Radiographic features


Following features are seen on contrast-enhanced CT 1: 

  • diffuse or localized swelling secondary to edema
  • homogeneous enhancement
  • peripancreatic inflammatory change and/or fluid collections
