Iodinated oil pulmonary embolism is a form of particulate material pulmonary embolism which in turn falls under non-thrombolic pulmonary emboli. Iodinated oil pulmonary embolism occurs in the setting of:
- oily chemoembolisation of tumors
- lymphangiography 4

hysterosalpingography with oil-soluble contrast medium 2
Radiographic features
CT
Can be variable and include 5
- extensive dense opacities
- reticulonodular interstitial pattern: can persist for several weeks
- multifocal patchy areas of ground-glass attenuation and high-attenuation areas of consolidation and collapse
