The jugular bulb is the connection between the sigmoid sinus and the internal jugular vein

Gross anatomy

The sigmoid and inferior petrosal sinuses empty into the jugular bulb, which continues as the internal jugular vein. It lies in the pars vascularis, which occupies the posterolateral aspect of the jugular foramen
