Lamellated (term)

The term lamellated (or laminated) is a radiopathological term used to describe the layered appearance of some calculi, primarily those of the gallbladder or the renal tract.

History and etymology

Lamellated and laminated derive from the same Latin root. Lamella is the Latin diminutive of lamina. Lamina is Latin for thin plate.
