Body
was changed:
The mandibular foramen or inferior alveolar foramen is located on the medial surface of the ramus of the mandible and is the entrance to the mandibular canal. It transmits the inferior alveolar nerve, a branch of the posterior division of the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve that supplies all the ipsilateral teeth up to the midline as well as the inferior alveolar artery and the vein
Superiorly it has a small tubercle or ridge, the lingula, where the sphenomandibular ligament attaches.
