An octreoscan is a scinitigraphic study that uses a 111In labeled octreotide which is a somatostatin analog. It is particularly useful for assessment of neuroendocrine tumors.

- islet cell tumor of pancreas
Certain non neuroendocrine tumors can also show uptake in an octreoscan
In addition certain autoimmune or granulomatous disease may also occasionally show uptake with octreotide
