A pedunculated intratracheal mass has a variety of differential diagnoses:
- benign tumor, e.g. hamartoma, chondroma, lipoma
- hemangioma
- inspissated mucus
- metastasis to tracheal mucosa, e.g. renal cell carcinoma, melanoma
- polyp, e.g. inflammatory, antrochoanal
- papilloma
- post-intubation tracheal granuloma in neonate
