Primary colorectal small cell carcinoma

Primary colorectal small cell carcinoma (CrSmCC) is a very rare neuroendocrine tumor with an aggressive course.

Epidemiology

Neuroendocrine carcinomas comprise less than 1% of all colorectal cancer.

Pathology

As with other small cell carcinomas, they are malignancies derived from neuroendocrine tissue. 

Location

There may be a predilection for the rectum 1.
