Retroperitoneal hydatid infection

Retroperitoneal hydatid infection refers to the presence of hydatid cyst in the retroperitoneal region of the abdomen.

Pathology

It is generally seen secondary to intraperitoneal (mainly hepatic) infection. Isolated occurrence is rare.
