Squamomastoid suture

Last revised by Francis Deng on 15 Mar 2021

The squamomastoid suture is the cranial suture at the outer surface between the squamous and (petro)mastoid portion of the temporal bone. It is also called the external petrosquamous suture 2 or external posterior petrosquamosal suture 3 as it actually represents the posterior and external aspect of the petrosquamous suture.
