Suprasternal tubercle

Last revised by Yuranga Weerakkody on 2 Aug 2021

Suprasternal tubercle is a sternal normal variant which forms when a suprasternal ossicle fuses with the manubrium 1. It can be unilateral or bilateral. It usually appears as triangular or pyramidal bony projection in continuity with the superior margin of manubrium. It is better depicted in coronal and axial planes on CT scan 2.
