Supratrochlear foramen (head)

Last revised by Mostafa Elfeky on 21 Sep 2020

The supratrochlear foramen is the small opening at the medial edge of the superior orbital margin in the frontal bone that transmitts the supratrochlear nerve, artery and vein. When incomplete, it forms a notch. It is variably present, and when absent the neurovascular bundle will simple exit the orbit under the superior orbital margin medially.

It is medial to the supra-orbital foramen, where the supra-orbital nerve, artery and vein exit the orbit.
