Technetium 99m-methyl diphosphonate (99mTc MDP) is a radioisotope used in nuclear medicine especially for bone scans. MDP stands for methylene di-phosphonate. Any Any disease process which results in extracellular fluid expansion will lead to accumulation of this isotope.
