Thurstan Holland fragment

The Thurstan Holland fragment (or Thurstan Holland sign) is an eponymous radiological sign depicting a triangular portion of the metaphysis remaining with the epiphysis in a physeal fracture. This fragment indicates a type 2 Salter-Harris fracture 1.

History and etymology

It is named after Charles Thurstan Holland (1863-1941), an English radiologist, and one of the trailblazers in the early development of radiology as a specialty 2
