What is the differential diagnosis for diffuse bony slcerosis?
The differential is wide, and includes renal osteodystrophy, osteoblastic metastases, Paget's disease, myelofibrosis, mastocytosis, osteopetrosis and pynkodysostosis.
Of these, which are most likely to have associated hepatosplenomegaly?
Myelofibrosis, mastocytosis and osteopetrosis.
CT of the abdomen demonstrates ascites, hepatosplenomegaly and upper abdominal lymphadenopathy. Windowing to bone confirms the diffuse sclerosis seen on the plain films.
