A large rounded homogeneous hyperdense lesion anterior and to the right to the superior mesenteric artery. Mild free ascites.

A large rounded lesion is noted anterior and to the right of the superior mesenteric artery with hypointense signal on T2 and no post-contrast enhancement.  

Case Discussion

MR and CT demonstrate superior mesenteric vein thrombosis secondary to chronic pancreatitis.
