Typical appearance of hypersensitivity pneumonitis, classical for subacute disease.
Case Discussion
Patient who is a bird fancier presents with shortness of breath, with CT evidence of hypersensitivity pneumonitis, most likely subacute. It is thought to represent a chronic inflammatory response to avian antigens (usually inhaled proteins in the dust of bird feathers and droppings).
Imaging appearances tend to resolve when the initiating antigen is removed.
