Dural sinus thrombosis

Discussion:

Non-contrast CT brain shows hydrocephalus and hyperdense internal cerebral veins and great cerebral vein, compatible with acute thrombosis. Hyperdense thrombus is also partially filling the superior sagittal sinus.

Dense triangle sign is sometimes seen in thrombosis of superior sagittal sinus. Dural sinus and cerebral vein thrombosis may occur as a complication of infections such as meningitis, and can cause complication such as venous hemorrhagic infarct.
