Persistent left embryonal artery entering the skull through the hypoglossal foramen. Hypoplastic vertebral arteries. Calcified plaque in the left ICA.

Case Discussion

Among the four persistent primitive anastomoses between the carotid and basilar system, the hypoglossal artery is the one most likely to cause clinical symptoms.
