Presentation

Hand lump for few years.

Patient Data

Gender: Female
x-ray

A homogeneous soft tissue lucency over the 2nd and 3rd metacarpal bones. 1sr CMC joint space reduction, subchondral sclerosis, and marginal osteophytes. No fracture/ dislocation/ bone lesion.

ultrasound

Well-defined soft tissue lesion deep to the subcutaneous plane of the palm. A hyperechoic lesion with echogenic short striations without calcification/ cystic changes/ vascularity.

Features are in keeping with a lipoma and 1st CMC degenerative joint disease.
