Cystic cavity lined by multi-layered squamous cell epithelium. Subepithelial inflammatory mixed cellular infiltrate. No neoplasm.

Malignancy had to be excluded by biopsy, not only because of the bony destruction. The imaging differential diagnosis between various odontogenic or non-odontogenic cysts, and ameloblastoma is often difficult, if not impossible.
