High signal intensity in globus pallidus is typically on T1 and T2 axial images. Also bilateral sentrum semiovale show restricted diffusion in DWI.

Case Discussion

Patient with carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. These MR images were acquired 3 hours after the accident. Bilateral globus pallidus lesions are typical for CO poisoning.
