Distal biceps brachii tendon tear with retraction

Presentation

Sudden pain and loss of strength in a body builder doing biceps curls.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

The biceps tendon is retracted up to the distal muscle belly and surrounded by fluid (hematoma). In the transverse sections through the elbow, the tendon is absent.
