Chemotherapy induced enteritis

Case contributed by Frank Gaillard
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Increasing abdominal pain 8 days following an autograft for myeloma.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Almost the entire small bowel, best appreciated in the ileum, is thick-walled, without out evidence of infarction or obstruction.

Case Discussion

In the setting of recent chemotherapy (hopefully curative) and autograft, these features are most in keeping with a chemotherapy induced enteritis.
