Rice grain calcification - cysticercosis

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

Typical calcified rice bodies in all the muscles around the knee. They are dead cysts and are usually asymptomatic.

Case Discussion

The rice grain calcification is characteristic of infection with Taenia solium (cysticercosis).
