Nuclear medicine

Hot spot at right hilum at the site of primary malignancy on PET/CT. Left kidney is normal.

CT guided biopsy. Histology demonstrated metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.

Case Discussion

Mass lesion in left kidney looks like a renal cell carcinoma but the PET scan was normal some 12 months previously so it has grown very quickly thus biopsy was performed and showed a metastatic lesion from lung.
