X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy

Presentation

Visual disturbances and seizures.

Patient Data

Age: 7 years
Gender: Male
mri

Bilateral near symmetrical confluent lesions in the peritrigonal region, temporo-parieto-occipital region, posterior aspects of internal and external capsules, selenium of corpus callosum, brain stem and cortico-spinal tracks. 

After administration of the contrast, enhancement of the intermediate zone of bilateral peritrigonal and temporo-parieto-occipital region, splenium of corpus callosum and cortico-spinal tracks at brainstem, represents active demyelination and inflammation.
