Presentation

30 year old female presented with epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting after a night of binge drinking.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Gastric wall edema (HU 5) and mucosal enhancement. Note the sharp demarcation of the normal fundal region of the stomach and the edematous gastric body. 

Case Discussion

Heavy episodic alcohol consumption is a likely culprit for acute gastritis in this case.
