Second branchial cleft cyst - type II

Presentation

Left neck painful swelling

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Cystic lesion with enhanced wall is seen at the left retro-mandibular space which is abutting internal carotid artery and compressing the internal jugular vein.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent with infected  2nd branchial cleft cyst ( type - II ) which is the most common type of this branchial anomaly.
