Swelling of the Achilles tendon was mainly distal rather than mid-tendon. Kager fat pad was echogenic. Hyperaemia of the tendon, fat pad and bursa was observed. There was probable spurring at the Achilles insertion. There was retrocalcaneal bursitis.
