Patient Data

Age: 67
Gender: Female

The findings were described on the next study.

Undefined celiac trunk emerging from the abdominal aorta. Prominent network of tortuous and atheromatous collateral vessels is identified communicating the superior mesenteric artery to the celiac trunk branches. Tortuous vessels around the second and third portion of the duodenum, corresponding to pancreaticoduodenal arteries. These vessels supply the gastroduodenal artery, in a retrograde manner.

Case Discussion

The most commonly collateral vessels that supply a stenotic or occlude celiac artery are the pancreaticoduodenal arcades and the dorsal pancreatic artery 1.
