What is the first diagnosis for this CT findings in a traumatic patient with severe chest pain?
Thoracic aortic pseudoaneurysm
What is the other important differential diagnosis for this imaging findings (specially in a non-traumatic patient) ?
Ductus diverticulum, which is usually seen at the anteromedial aspect of the aorta at site of the previous ductus arteriosus, the aortic isthmus. This is also the site of 90% of post traumatic aortic injuries.
There is a small well defined outpouching of the proximal descending aorta (just distal to the origin of the left subclavian artery), in keeping with pseudoaneurysm.
