Traumatic pneumocephalus and extradural hemorrhage

Bilateral comminuted and depressed skull fractures are demonstrated. On the right the fracture involves the floor of the middle cranial fossa extending into the zygomatic arch and extending into the temporal and parietal bones. This is associated with an extradural hematoma displacing the temporal lobe medially. On the left and a parietal fracture, depressed posteriorly and is associated with an extradural hematoma containing air introduced by a laceration through the posterior aspect of the fracture. The brain itself is unremarkable.
