Diffuse bone edema of the talar head and adjacent neck. Small signal void subchondral lines parallel to the joint surface of the talar head. Slightly narrowed joint spaces. No further signs of degenerative joint disease.
Case Discussion
This finding is quite rare in the talar head. It probably has the same etiology as spontaneous osteonecrosis of the knee or Freiberg's infraction of the 2nd metatarsal.
