Presentation
Hematuria for work-up.
Patient Data
Irregular filling defects along the posterior wall of the bladder.
No abnormailty on the non contrast images.
Pathology report:
The bladder biopsies show features of low grade papillary urothelial carcinoma. The tumor comprises crowded papillae, which are lined by multiple layers of atypical urothelial cells. The tumor cells have enlarged hyperchromatic nuclei and small nucleoli. Mitoses are inconspicuous. There is no evidence of lamina propria invasion. Lymphovascular invasion is not seen. Detrusor muscle is identified and there is no evidence of muscle invasion.
Case Discussion
This demonstrates the usefulness in the delayed phase examination of the urinary tract during triple phase excretory urography.
