Krukenberg tumor

Discussion:

This patient underwent right colectomy one year ago (colonic adenocarcinoma). Remains in oncologic treatment.

The CT showed a complex cystic mass that seems to be related to ovary neoplasms. Surgery was performed to remove the tumor. The histopathological diagnosis confirms ovarian/adnexal metastasis of colon adenocarcinoma.

A Krukenberg tumor refers to a subtype of metastatic tumor to the ovary. The colon and stomach are the most common primary tumors to result in ovarian metastases, followed by the breast, lung, and contralateral ovary.
