Osteoid osteoma

Presentation

Right knee pain at the posterior aspect increased at night.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

A small lucent nidus is seen within the cortex of posteromedial aspect of proximal right tibia surrounded by moderate sclerosis. No calcification within.

Case Discussion

Bone biopsy revealed osteoid osteoma it is a benign tumor of osteoblasts and characterized by its clinical features which include pointing pain, increased at night and relieved by analgesics. Recently radiofrequency ablation provide non surgical curative treatment of osteoid osteoma.
