Pancreatic pseudocyst

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Blunt abdominal trauma two weeks ago.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Non-specific bowel gas distribution. No evidence of free air. Large smooth rounded impression on the stomach ?mass effect. Otherwise unremarkable study.

ultrasound

Large midline cystic structure. The origin of the lesion couldn't be determined. 

ct

Large midline cystic structure on the upper abdomen with small communication to the pancreatic tail.

mri

MRCP confirm the communication of the large cystic structure to the tail of the pancreas.

ultrasound

Spontaneous rupture of the pancreatic pseudocyst evident by free fluid in the pelvis with loss of the configuration of the cyst.

Status post drainage tube insertion. Small cystic lesion is seen at the pancreatic tail.
