Post tooth extraction abscess

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

C/o swelling on right side of face - 3 wks. H/o same side tooth extraction - 4 wks. Referred for ultrasound of local swelling on face.

Patient Data

Age: about 30 yrs
Gender: Male
ultrasound

A hypoechoic area is noted deep skin.  Mobile echoes are noted centrally.  Peripheral area shows vascularity. Approximate Size  -  - 24 x 20 x 9 mm

A tract  is noted extending from above mentioned lesion.
It passes through muscle and reaches possibly to extracted tooth socket - defect in cortex is noted.
