Idiopathic intracranial hypertension

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Blurring of vision for two weeks. No diminished of vision.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

There is high T2 signal expanding dural sheath of the optic nerves bilaterally (i.e. dilated CSF spaces around the optic nerves bilaterally). Partially empty sella. No area of abnormal signal intensity elicited in supra- or infratentorial regions. 

Case Discussion

The MRI findings are suggestive of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri). No evidence of dural venous sinuses thrombosis, hydrocephalus or space occupying lesion.
