There is loss of grey-white matter differentiation in multiple areas of the supratentorial cortex, with hypoattenuation in multiple cortical areas. The bilateral caudate nuclei, lentiform nuclei, bilateral thalami and the dorsal midbrain are also hypoattenuating. There is mild diffuse cerebral swelling with sulcal effacement and reduced ventricular size. No descending transtentorial or tonsillar herniation. There is no intracranial haemorrhage.
