Presentation

US revealed pelvic cystic lesion for further CT assessment.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Both kidneys are fused, lying on the right side of the midline (left to right renal ectopia).

Mild left hydronephrosis is noted.

A well circumscribed multilocular cystic lesion with thick enhancing walls is seen centered upon the left adnexal and parametrial region. It is seen intimately related to the left aspect of the uterine body. It shows internal fluid of low attenuation values. It measures about 7.5 x 5.6 x 6 cm at its maximum axial and craniocaudal dimensions respectively. It is seen mildly displaces the left ureter laterally. 

Case Discussion

Crossed fused renal ectopia are detected in most patients during investigation for other problems, like in this patient that complaining of pelvic cystic mass lesion detected by pelvic US. 

Left to right renal ectopia is said to be three times more than right to left ectopia.
