Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea with pneumocephalus

Presentation

Watery nasal discharge

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Extensive pneumocephalus.

Fluid in the right maxillary sinus, left frontal sinus, left anterior ethmoidal air cells and along the cribriform plate.

T2 weighted coronal acquisitions show fluid tracking along the left of cribriform plate on prone position. There are extensive hypointense signals in subarachnoid spaces corresponding to pneumocephalus.
