Cerebral arteriovenous malformation on non-contrast CT

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Fall with headstrike.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Male

Arteriovenous malformation is noted within the right parietal lobe with enlarged cortical veins draining to superior sagittal and straight sinuses and to the right choroid venous plexus / right internal cerebral vien (i.e. both deep and superficial venous drainage).

No intra- or extra-axial collection or acute hemorrhage identified. Grey-white differentiation is preserved. Ventricular size, sulcal pattern and basal cisterns all appear normal. No bony abnormality demonstrated.

Conclusion:

Right parietal AVM. No acute intracranial hemorrhage
