Knee pain post trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 27
Gender: Male

Avulsion fracture adjacent to the lateral tibial condyle. No clear donor site.

Avulsion fracture of the lateral tibial plateau (Segond fracture). Complete ACL tear. Lateral meniscus body tear, which is displaced. Associated marrow edema.

Case Discussion

Segond fractures are an avulsion fracture of the knee that involve the lateral aspect of the tibial plateau. Commonly associated injuries include ACL and meniscal tears (as is demonstrated in this case).
